Jay Boone opened the doors of Emerald City Guitars in the summer of 1996, and has never looked back. After spending years in the Seattle music scene, Jay got into music retail managing and co-owning several shops in the area. “When I opened my doors almost 20 years ago, a lot of people told me the vintage market was dead, but I was pretty sure it wasn’t.” Jay has managed to make Emerald City Guitars one of the most highly acclaimed vintage guitar shops in the country, counting many bona-fide super stars as his personal clients . “We always try to keep it down home and friendly at the shop, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and service.” Jay has been in countless bands over the years, from Widow to MoFo and Bro, and Spike and the Continentals, to name a few. He still managed to fit gigs into his busy lifestyle as a husband, father, business owner, and friend to all who know him.
Trevor has been deeply involved in music his entire life, branching out his experience in many different aspects. Working one on one with musicians of all kinds as a specialist at his father’s guitar store taught him not only equipment knowledge, but what it takes to become successful in the industry. His love for music as a whole led to his extreme passion for musical equipment. Whether it was collecting, teaching, engineering/recording, or performing in bands, he has always shown love and great appreciation for music. Trevor writes, sings, and plays lead guitar in The Hollers, who play on a regular basis in Seattle and have been heard on local radio stations. Trevor's main setup includes one of the very first left handed 1952 Fender Telecasters, a 1965 Vibrolux, and his trusty Klon Centaur. Trevor specializes in vintage guitars and amps and artist relations. He consults collections for some of the biggest musicians and collectors in the world.

Liz brings 15 years of music store experience and even more years of stage and performance to the table. James moved up here from San Diego to pursue his music and quickly became part of the crew down here at Emerald City Guitars. You may have seen James working or playing at various Seattle venues with his Soul Rock outfit, James Anaya and the Current. James is not only an accomplished guitar player, but also a very talented singer songwriter. His passion about music combined with his genuine love of people make him a great fit at Emerald City Guitars.
Jordan Fuller is the head of website/media along with an expert on vintage equipment. Not only did Jordan attend Berklee School of Music he's also a former pickup winder at the world famous Lollar Pickups. If you've ever bought or used a set up Lollar Telecaster pickups, most likely Jordan wound 'em up! Jordan plays in Seattle's band The Hollers w/ Trevor Boone and is not just a gear junkie, but one hell of a guitarist and bassist.
Washington native Ian Crawford is a talented musician and seasoned veteran in the music industry, having played and toured with countless major acts including Panic! At The Disco, The Academy Is..., The Cab, Hellogoodbye and is the newest member of Seattle band, The Hollers. Ian not only brings a wealth of gear knowledge to our staff, but he is also a Rock riff encyclopedia and our in-house instructor for guitar, bass, mandolin and ukulele lessons. Most days you'll see Ian playing his beloved 1965 Fender Stratocaster.
Tyler Geske is Emerald City Guitar's resident guitar tech. Hailing from Gilbert, Arizona, he originally began studying Engineering at the University of Arizona before leaving to pursue his passion for guitars at the famous Roberto Venn School of Luthiery. Tyler is now Seattle's go-to guy for anything from basic setups to more involved repairs including refrets, pickup rewinds and much more. In addition to being an excellent tech, Tyler is quite the fingerpicker, a huge Americana music fan and lover of all things vintage.
