1937 Gibson Super 400
1937 Gibson Super 400. An amazing pre-war archtop! The Gibson Super 400 was the top of the line model and features an 18″ hand-carved solid Spruce top with Maple back, sides and neck. Solid condition with a few professionally repaired cracks and repaired headstock stress crack. Neck and sides have been over-sprayed. Grover Imperial tuners and tailpiece are of a later vintage. Plays well and has a slim neck with a wide 1.80″ nut, which is very roomy for fingerstyle/chord-melody playing and/or larger hands. This guitar has a dry, woody tone with lots of punch and is great sound for percussive rhythm playing and early Jazz! Includes hardshell case.
