1947 Gibson LG-2
1947 Gibson LG-2. A early block-logo LG-2 featuring a Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides. These smaller-bodied, X-braced flattops produce an amazingly rich tone. Good overall condition and a crack-free guitar, but with a fair amount of honest wear, checking, and dings. Strap button hole at the neck heel and three small screw holes by the endpin from a previously added tailpiece. Neck has been reset, bridge reglued and refretted, making this one an incredible player that’s ready to go. Very comfortable C-shaped neck that is a slimmer profile compared to the baseball bat necks of the banner era. Built very lightly, these guitars sound incredible with fingerstyle playing, but also have enough size and punchiness to make them great for flatpicking as well. This particular LG-2 has a full low end and a throaty, woody midrange that cuts very well and produces an unmistakably vintage tone. A killer 40’s LG-2 that you wont want to put down! Includes non-original hardshell case.
