1951 Gibson SJ-200N
1951 Gibson SJ-200N. A super rare 1951 SJ-200 in an original Natural finish! 1 of only 73 made that year! The SJ-200 is the “King of Flattops” and these early pre-1956 guitars are the most desired models. This one is in good shape and structurally solid with no cracks or breaks. Some heavier play wear around the soundhole/pickguard which has been professionally touched-up with a little shellac to protect the wood (easily removable with rubbing alcohol if desired) and some groves in the fretboard filled in on the first four frets. Replaced bridge pins and small screw holes on the back of the headstock, commonly seen, from an old original Gibson strap hook. This guitar is nicely setup and a great player. The jumbo body delivers a huge sound with a booming low end and the Maple gives the tone a nice top-end brightness and cutting quality. These guitars love to be strummed hard! A true cowboy guitar! Includes original brown Lifton hardshell case.
